Definition: The TBILLYIELD function in Excel is used to calculate the yield of a US Treasury bill.

Syntax: ==TBILLYIELD(settlement, maturity, price).

Situation: This formula is appropriate in situations where you need to calculate the yield of a US Treasury bill.

Example: If the settlement date is January 1, 2020, the maturity date is June 30, 2020, and the price per $100 face value is 99.8, you would use the formula =TBILLYIELD(“1/1/2020”, “6/30/2020”, 99.8). This would return a value that indicates the yield of the Treasury bill.
