Definition: AVERAGEA is a function that returns the arithmetic mean of a list of values, including text and logical values.

Syntax: =AVERAGEA(value1, [value2], …)

Situation: This formula is suitable when you need to find the average of a list of values, including text and logical values.

Example: If you have a list of test scores in cells A1 to A10, including some blanks, the average score can be found using the formula =AVERAGEA(A1:A10). If the scores are [75, 85, “”, 70, 80, TRUE, 80, 75, FALSE, 80], the average score is 63.5.
